What Makes Her a Beautiful Woman

Pretty face, smooth skin, pencil lips, coca-cola bottle shape, large breasts,  long lashes, cute fingers and toes….these physical attributes paint a picture of a beautiful woman, right?

Let’s examine, for example, the actress, Angelina Jolie. She is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful women in the world – but why? Is it her long dark hair? Is it her dark penetrating eyes? Is it her full lips? Sure those things add to the mystique of the woman but they, alone, don’t make her beautiful. After all, she has less than perfect legs and her body often wavers from being painfully thin to a bit more Rubenesque.” (thebeautybiz.com)

So what really makes a beautiful woman? Is it the intangible attributes that seal the deal, like her intelligence, wittiness, calmness and sometimes audaciousness, her ability to converse and articulate?

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. This immediately suggests that beauty is something that can be seen rather than felt and therefore likely to be inconsistent, as one man’s meat can be another man’s poison. We all may see the same things differently.

Beauty is truly consistent or it isn’t beauty at all. And this consistency can be found in qualities that are innate and unwavering, even amidst challenges, chaos and conflict.

A beautiful woman is one who is wrapped in the essence of things intangible. For example, she is kind, loving, caring, considerate, selfless. She puts her needs aside to ensure the needs of her spouse and children are met. Her unselfishness is not limited to her spouse and children. Others may call her crazy, accuse her of compromising what should come first, SELF. But when she puts those whom she loves first, that is when she is actually fulfilling self, think about it.

The “Virtuous” Woman

A beautiful woman, some may hold, is like the Proverbs 31 woman. Her hands are always at work, tending to the physical and emotional needs of her family. She toils and mends all day long, fixes broken things, nurses wounds, and cures conditions with her immeasurable love. She is graceful, gracious and dignified, with a great sense of spirituality; she is wise, emotionally strong, and powerful, even with a gentle touch. She is virtuous, though, much to the chagrin of many, this Proverbs 31 virtuous woman is often perceived as no more than a glorified maid.

A beautiful woman is also one who is the epitome of fidelity. She is human, with a great sense of passion and need for sexual intimacy and fulfillment, yet she is chaste, to her husband/man. She does not place herself in a position that will cause her to violate the sanctity of her marriage/relationship.

It has been said that a pretty face is a passport. But it’s not, it’s a visa, and it runs out fast.” (Julie Burchill).

Are you a beautiful woman?
