Celebrate Life!

Celebrate life. Okay, that’s easier said than done, especially with all the ups and downs life constantly throws at you. In the midst of trials and unhappy moments it is not unusual for people to feel despaired, wanting to “throw in the towel.” Who wants to think positively? Who can, in the height of adverse situations? You can. The one thing, if nothing else that we have control of is our thoughts. You must have heard the saying, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve.” Can you imagine how psychologically grueling it would be if we lacked the ability to shape and/or realign our thoughts as the circumstances require? It is important that we exercise filtering negative counterproductive information out of our minds and replace them with data that is beneficial to our mental and physical health.

Life was made to be celebrated, not to be a burden. We hold the key in our hands to make it happen, we get to decide. I know all of us may not be wired to automatically look on the brighter side of things, but we all nonetheless possess the ability to do so.

In my book, Life, Love and Inspiration, I wrote: “Life is about the continuous adaptation to the often unpredictable changes that constantly come our way.”

Celebrate life. You may say this sound all utopia and flowery, and rightfully so. In truth, it’s sometime hard to take even our own advice or counsel. But what’s important is that we are aware, and that we strive to inculcate the same ideals in our own lives. Perfection is not promised, but we can at least achieve some semblance of it. What counts is that we try and try until we get it right. In truth and in fact, some of us never do, though, as the saying goes, “It is better to try and fail than to fail to try,” though you may also have heard or believe that “It is better not to try, than to try and fail

Whether we like it or not, whether we accept it or not, there will always be challenges before us. We need not fear. We each have the ability to face those challenges and overcome. Though we may deny it, we are as strong as we are weak. Oh! Let me dash one more thing in. While the glass is half empty, it is simultaneously half-full! Whatever is happening around you, remember to celebrate life. It’s yours!
